WELCOME FROM THE OWNERS
We are excited to be joining the fantastic array of restaurants and retailers in downtown Leesburg, Virginia. As the owners of The Vineyards and Winery at Lost Creek, Todd & Aimee Henkle, have been a part of the Ashburn & Leesburg community since moving into the area in 2007. The Henkles purchased Lost Creek Winery in September 2012 with a passion for wine and a love of business. They had been looking for over 10 years to purchase a vineyard and winery in places like California & Oregon, but found something special here in Loudoun County so when the opportunity arose to dive into the emerging wine industry here in the county, they didn’t think twice. The Henkle’s were witnessing the transformation of Virginia wine and wanted to be a part of it! Since that time, they have grown Lost Creek into a premier winery offering high-quality 100% Loudoun County wines from their Meridian Ridge vineyard along the Blue Ridge Mountains in Bluemont, Virginia.
Now, how did we get to Leesburg and the creation of Echelon Wine Bar? The Henkles have long considered an urban location and have been watching downtown Leesburg grow and thrive over the years. The town has such charm and historic roots that they felt it was a perfect fit. They began looking for commercial space in the town in 2018 and found a perfect location right at the corner of King & Loudoun. The Echelon Wine bar is named after the top Lost Creek Winery label which embodies the best wine we could produce for that vintage. We are excited to introduce Echelon Wine Bar, a wine bar, wine education center, private event space and Lost Creek Winery tasting room. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Todd Henkle, Owner & Lost Creek Winemaker

JULIE SIEBERT, WINE EDUCATION DIRECTOR
Julie came to wine as a "third career," following 26 years working for the Federal Government where she rose to the senior executive levels and oversaw large training and development programs. That followed an early, initial profession as a print journalist. She grew up in Seattle, surrounded by the burgeoning wine industry in Washington State, and has had opportunities to visit many international wine areas, so becoming a sommelier was a natural next step. The classes and events at Echelon have allowed Julie to combine her passion for wine with her existing skills in communication and adult education and development. Her philosophy is to make wine enjoyable and easy to understand for everyone. Julie is WSET Level 3 Certified, and is an Italian, American and French Wine Scholar.
